Checking this option will automatically select and display an appropriate spatial resolution for the surface currents overlay (1, 2, or 6 km) based on the current map zoom level and as the map zoom changes.
Alternatively, if there is a specific spatial resolution that you wish to view, leave the "auto-select" checkbox deselected.
