The PacIOOS Web Data/Product Developer is an exciting, full-time position* that will lead all aspects of development, testing, and deployment of web-based interactive products, including design and coding of User Interface (UI), charts, maps, interactives, and dashboards for ocean, climate, and coastal hazards data.

The Web Data/Product Developer will work closely with the PacIOOS data management group to design and develop visualizations and web-based interactive products of weather, ocean, climate, and coastal information to support ocean and coastal decision making across the Pacific Islands. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure developed tools, products, and visualizations are responsive to user needs, compliant with Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS)-designated standards and best practices and integrate seamlessly with existing PacIOOS systems.

We are looking for a self-motivated, creative, and flexible team member with excellent organizational and time management skills as well as strong interpersonal, collaborative and inclusive skills. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related field; as well as at least two years of web-based product development, and/or web page development, and/or programming experience, specifically handling earth and environmental data. Salary is commensurate with experience.

PacIOOS stakeholders and users heavily rely on our network of oceanographic sensors and forecasts across the U.S. Pacific Islands for timely, reliable, and accurate information to support their decision-making.
