Satellite Data

Measurements from space, including sea surface temperature (SST), sea surface salinity, wind over the oceans, sea surface height (topography), geostrophic currents (velocity), and chlorophyll-a concentration ("ocean color"). Through detection of phytoplankton, ocean color provides a global picture of biological activity in the world's oceans.
