Surfline/Wavetrak Inc. joins PacIOOS as a regional MOA partner. For over 30 years, Surfline/Wavetrak Inc. has connected people with the ocean. Starting with surfers and since expanding to offshore cruisers, fishermen and a myriad of other ocean-goers, Surfline/Wavetrak Inc. has found ways to deliver the peak ocean experience. It is the company’s mission to provide the most accurate forecast data and eye-popping content. PacIOOS and Surfline/Wavetrak Inc. will explore ideas to enhance wave modeling capacities in the Pacific Islands region.

PacIOOS is the first regional association that was certified as a Regional Information Coordination Entity (RICE) by the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS). Certification provides NOAA and its interagency partners a means to verify that a regional association’s organizational and operational practices, including data management, meet recognized and established standards set by NOAA.
