Computes statistics such as mean (average), minimum, maximum, and standard deviation (±) over a selected area on the map for the displayed overlay. Click twice on the map to select opposite corners of a bounding box. Click on the center marker that results to produce a pop-up window with the computed statistics. The edges and corners of the bounding box can be further adjusted or the center marker can be dragged to a new location. You can also enter or refine the vertices of the bounding box using the min/max lat/lon inputs below in decimal degrees.
NOTE: Statistics are computed only for the pixels whose center points are contained in the selected bounding box. In the illustration below, only the pixels numbered #1-9 will be used to compute the area statistics for the yellow selection box while those labeled "x" are excluded:
