Coral Reef Distribution

This overlay represents the global distribution of warm water coral reefs. It was compiled from numerous data sources by UNEP-WCMC and the WorldFish Center in collaboration with the World Resources Institute and The Nature Conservancy. This amalgamated dataset has been created to further mobilize the Millennium Coral Reef Mapping Project and their validation. It is the highest resolution global coral reef dataset to date, with the majority (85%) of the data mapped at 30-meter resolution.
