Dwarf Sperm Whale Sightings

Cascadia Research Collective (CRC) has been undertaking surveys for odontocetes in Hawaiian waters since 2000. Photo-identification indicates a small resident population of dwarf sperm whales off the island of Hawaiʻi (Big Island) as well as an offshore population. Less is known about this species off other islands.
