Selecting Which Locations To Map

Use this pull-down menu to alter the method used to select which location points to display on the map. If there are too many locations to map at once, a subset are displayed based on the current map view and your selected criteria: maximum number allowable, selection method, date range, and time range. The selection method chooses which points to display as follows:

evenly: sighting locations are chosen at evenly distributed indices from the available subset; note: these are not necessarily distributed evenly in time (or space)
earliest: the first sighting locations in the available time range are displayed successively
middle: sighting locations are displayed successively from either side of the subset's midway time
last: the last sighting locations in the available time range are displayed successively
