Sightings Of Marine Organisms

The following datasets represent various marine species whose locations have been identified either through satellite tags or direct human observation: surveys (shipborne or aerial), photography, and/or genetic sampling. This can be useful for assessing abundance, population structure, habitat use, and behavior. Select a survey from one of the species listed below to plot its collection of sightings over time.

note: Unlike satellite tagging in the "tracking" category above, these surveys represent any sightings of a given species rather than the motion of an individual organism.
