This automatic weather station (aws_hnlpier1) is located at Pier 1 on the Diamond Head (southeastern) side of the Honolulu Harbor entrance on the island of Oʻahu in the State of Hawaiʻi. Instruments are mounted to a pole at a height of 64 ft (19.5 m) above sea level. The pole is set back approximately 240 ft (73 m) from the south-facing shoreline. This Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 6322C cabled sensor suite includes a rain collector, temperature/humidity sensors, and an anemometer/wind direction vane. Data are transmitted in 5-minute intervals.
The Honolulu Harbor weather station is owned by the Hawaiʻi Pilots Association (HPA). HPA provides safe, reliable, and efficient pilotage services for all commercial ports throughout the Hawaiian Islands. PacIOOS maintains the weather station and enables easy access to the data.
