Governing Council Meeting 2018

For the annual PacIOOS Governing Council Meeting, members met at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa campus in November. The U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS) Office and the IOOS Association provided overviews, and PacIOOS shared programmatic updates with meeting participants. The council also engaged in valuable discussions during breakout sessions to provide input on regional capacity building workshops, biological observations, and PacIOOS’ short- and long-term priorities. While on campus, council members toured PacIOOS’ labs and facilities and met co-investigators and staff.

The PacIOOS Governing Council consists of members elected by Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signatories and serve for 3-year terms. View the most recent council representation. If your organization is interested to become a MOA partner, please contact our office at info@pacioos.org.

PacIOOS is the first regional association that was certified as a Regional Information Coordination Entity (RICE) by the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS). Certification provides NOAA and its interagency partners a means to verify that a regional association’s organizational and operational practices, including data management, meet recognized and established standards set by NOAA.
